Peacefully in Wanganui with family at her side on Thursday, 23rd July 2026 aged 101 years.

Much loved wife of the late John (Jack). Dearly loved Mum of Christine; loving Nana of Susan and Paul. Dear friend of Clive.

A service to celebrate Avis' life will be held in the Cleveland Chapel, 179 Ingestre Street, Wanganui, on Tuesday 28th July 2026 at 1:00pm.

Avis you were a 1 of a kind. You were such a beautiful lady. I am so grateful for our time together from a little baby to an adult. I am so grateful that I got to be your carer. I was thrilled to learn my Nana ( Alice Pedder) and yourself were friends I was so happy hearing about the Dances and Friendship you shared. I always liked hearing about how you enjoyed going out with your friends and family. How you enjoyed your phone call's with Christine everyday. Phillip enjoyed talking to you and having a laugh with you. Thank you for the laughs and fun we had together. I am sad I was unable to attend your service but I am thankful for the livestream.
